Integrity of Science Working Group

The growing attacks on science and scientists have raised public concerned over the government’s ability to develop policy that will advance public health and safety. The Integrity of Science Working Group (ISWG) a coalition of more than 17 organizations working on conservation, environmental health, women's health, public health & national security, utilize legislative and media strategies to promote appropriate uses of science in federal policy making. For a list of members of the ISWG please click here. In the fall of 2004 ISWG commissioned a survey which found that 84% of American voters believe that science should be protected from political influences. For more information regarding the survey findings click here. In combination with the release of the survey findings, ISWG issued a Call to Action for both organizations and individuals to sign on to, which endorses preserving the core values in science and science based decision making. To view the Call to Action click here. If you wish to sign on to the call to action please e-mail call2action@rhtp.org.
